For over 18 years, the Fountain Theatre has dedicated itself to serving the community through outreach and educational programs. Examples include:

Poetry in Motion
The Fountain's extremely successful program, in partnership with the Virginia Avenue Project and Soka University in Malibu, that teaches poetry skills to Deaf and Hearing youth.

Voices
The Fountain's groundbreaking free theatre program for persons with HIV/AIDS.

Theatre as a Learning Tool
An educational outreach program that brings inner-city students to the Fountain to experience the educational benefits of live theatre.

Young Playwrights Project
An educational program that matches high school writers with professional theatre adults ("mentors").

Free Children's Theatre performed outdoors in Spanish.

Deaf West Theatre Company
The Fountain donated office and performance space to provide the original creative home for deaf theatre artists.
